Job Role: Project Manager – Capital Projects (Data Center Construction)

Location: Dallas, TX, USA (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Contract

Compensation: Competitive Day Rate + Benefits (including 401(k)) the client is open to negotiate for the right expertise.

About Our Client:

Our client is a leading organization within the data center and mission-critical infrastructure sector, delivering large-scale, high-performance facilities across the United States. Due to continued growth and a major project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a flagship data center project in Dallas.

The Role:

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to oversee the construction and delivery of a large-scale data center project. This role is heavily focused on on-site construction execution, ensuring all phases—from early works through commissioning and handover—are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

You will play a critical role in coordinating contractors, engineers, and stakeholders, driving performance across all aspects of the build in a mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the construction phase of data center capital projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover
  • Oversee general contractors, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and quality expectations
  • Manage day-to-day construction activities on-site , including sequencing and trade coordination
  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards
  • Review and manage construction schedules, including critical path tracking and recovery planning
  • Monitor project costs, change orders, and contractor performance
  • Coordinate MEP installation and integration, ensuring readiness for commissioning
  • Lead site meetings, reporting, and stakeholder updates
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, delays, and technical challenges
  • Support testing, commissioning, and final handover to operations teams

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project management
  • At least 5 years of experience delivering data center construction projects
  • Proven experience managing mission-critical or large-scale infrastructure builds
  • Strong background in construction management and site delivery
  • Deep understanding of CAPEX project execution
  • Solid knowledge of MEP systems within data center environments
  • Experience with contracts, scheduling, and cost control
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred

Desirable Experience

  • Hyperscale or colocation data center project experience
  • Experience working with major general contractors or EPC firms
  • Exposure to fast-track or multi-phase builds
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes and Tier standards
