Hybrid 3 to 4 days a week onsite in Fort Worth, TX

 

Our client seeks an experienced Agile Team Coach to elevate Agile maturity across multiple delivery teams. You will coach Scrum Masters and Product Owners, facilitate Scrum ceremonies, and drive measurable outcomes by improving team dynamics and backlog practices. You will partner with stakeholders to connect delivery to business value and collaborate with a coaching community to mature standards and tooling. AI fluency is expected to streamline coaching artifacts and support team workflows.

Rate: $95.00 to $85.00/hr. w2

 

Responsibilities:
  • Coach Scrum Masters and Product Owners through hands-on facilitation, observation, and feedback to build capability.
  • Guide and facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives to improve effectiveness and autonomy.
  • Identify impediments, anti-patterns, and maturity gaps, then design and execute tailored improvement plans.
  • Model servant leadership and foster continuous improvement, psychological safety, and accountability.
  • Support Product Owners in building and maintaining outcome-oriented product backlogs.
  • Facilitate backlog refinement, decompose epics, craft user stories, define acceptance criteria, and enable effective estimation.
  • Champion backlog hygiene to ensure readiness for planning cycles and reduce rework.
  • Translate business goals into Agile delivery strategies and connect work to organizational value.
  • Communicate team health, velocity trends, and delivery risks in business-relevant terms.
  • Align expectations with stakeholders, clarify priorities, and lead trade-off discussions.
  • Collaborate with Agile coaches via Communities of Practice, shared retrospectives, and co-coaching.
  • Contribute to Agile standards, playbooks, toolkits, and training materials.
  • Share learnings and challenges to raise collective coaching capability and consistency.
Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years in Agile coaching, Scrum Master, or related role with a record of measurable team improvement.
  • Direct experience coaching Scrum Masters and Product Owners at the team level.
  • Expertise in Scrum ceremonies, backlog management techniques, and prioritization frameworks.
  • Proactive self-starter who identifies problems and proposes solutions.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to create pragmatic paths forward.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple team engagements in parallel.
  • Business acumen linking software delivery to revenue, cost, customer experience, and strategy.
  • Ability to communicate with executives, product leaders, and technical teams and adapt style to audience.
  • Use of data and metrics such as cycle time, velocity, defect rates, and burndown to drive decisions.
  • Collaborative mindset with a coaching community focus and relationship building across levels.
  • Receptive to feedback and models growth mindset.
  • AI fluency in tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or Notion AI to produce coaching materials and summaries.
  • Understanding of AI support for backlog refinement, dependency mapping, and sprint planning.
  • Practical experimentation and iteration with AI and sharing outcomes with teams.
  • Background in software development, product management, or business analysis (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Agile tooling such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, and Confluence (preferred).
  • Experience building or maturing an Agile coaching practice (preferred).
  • Facilitation training or workshops experience (preferred).
Education Requirements:
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) (preferred).
  • Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) (preferred).
  • ICAgile Certified Professional in Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC) (preferred).
  • SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) (preferred).
  • PMI-ACP certification (preferred).
