Job Title: Futures Operations Contractor – Deliveries

Duration: 6 months (strong potential to convert to permanent)

Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in-office, Chicago)

Training: First 3–5 weeks onsite

Shift: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (primary shift)

⚠️ Note: Team operates in a 24x6 global model — flexibility for shift changes, holidays, or extended hours may be required

Eligibility: U.S. Citizen or Green Card required

Role Overview

This role sits within the Futures Operations team at a global clearing member, supporting exchange-traded derivatives across major U.S. and international exchanges (CME, ICE, EUREX, LME, etc.).

Although aligned to the Deliveries function , this is not a siloed role — the team operates across both Clearing and Deliveries , and the ideal candidate understands how trades flow from exchange capture through to physical settlement .

You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery lifecycle of physically settled futures contracts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with strict exchange rules and deadlines.

What They Are Truly Looking For (Critical)

• Hands-on futures operations experience within a clearing member environment
• Strong, daily use of GMI (non-negotiable)
• Experience across both clearing and deliveries (even if more delivery-focused)
• Deep understanding of exchange-traded futures lifecycle , including:
• Trade capture from exchanges
• Allocation and clearing flows
• Delivery processes and physical settlement
• Experience working with global exchanges (CME, ICE, LME, EUREX, etc.)
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong ownership
• Comfortable in a lean team structure where individuals are expected to take initiative

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Operations

• Manage end-to-end delivery events including tenders, stops, assignments, and receipts
• Oversee delivery timelines (First Notice Day, Last Notice Day, Last Trade Day)
• Validate positions and coordinate delivery elections for client and house accounts
• Ensure accurate tracking and real-time visibility of delivery status
• Process delivery instructions, invoicing, and settlement activities

Clearing & Exchange Interaction

• Liaise directly with exchanges and clearinghouses to manage trade and delivery flows
• Support trade capture and booking into clearing accounts where needed
• Resolve delivery breaks, discrepancies, and clearing exceptions

Risk, Controls & Oversight

• Perform quality control checks on delivery processing
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and support regulatory/exchange inquiries
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, WSPs, and exchange requirements
• Escalate risks and issues to Operations, Risk, and Compliance teams

Team & Process Contribution

• Support junior team members and contribute to training and documentation
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
• Maintain procedures, checklists, and operational standards

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 3–6+ years of Futures & Options Operations experience
• Experience within a clearing member or similar trading environment strongly preferred
• Hands-on GMI experience (required)
• Experience with exchanges such as CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX, ICE US/EU, LME, EUREX
• Strong reconciliation, break resolution, and operational control skills
• Advanced Excel proficiency
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
• Self-starter with strong ownership and accountability

Additional Context (Important for Submissions)

• This is not an entry-level role — candidates must be able to contribute with minimal ramp-up
• Team operates in a global 24x6 model , and flexibility is important even though the primary shift is daytime
• Role is open due to business growth and increased trading volume
• Conversion to full-time is highly likely for strong performers (Bachelor’s degree required for FTE)
