PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION
The purpose of this classification is to perform work functions associated with operating a tractor/trailer truck to transport merchandise from the Company Distribution Department to various store locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Operates a tractor/trailer truck and various pieces of light and heavy equipment to transport merchandise to and from the truck, store, and loading dock.
Performs pre-trip inspection of truck prior to all trips, according to Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
Loads and unloads merchandise from truck, stores, and loading dock.
Performs other miscellaneous duties such as delivery of mail.
Conforms to all Federal and State DOT regulations and rules.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED; two year's experience as a truck driver and in operating a tractor/trailer truck; or any combination of training, experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Mathematical Aptitude : Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; the ability to interpret graphs.
Functional Reasoning : Requires the ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form; the ability to apply principles of rational systems; and to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives.
Situational Reasoning : Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria.

Physical Ability : Tasks require the ability to exert heavy physical effort, regularly involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of mildly heavy weight (20-50 pounds) and occasionally involving handling heavier objects (up to 100 pounds).
